Membership Benefits

Each MCC member institution forms their own search committee to select one full-time Clinical Mental Health Counselor to primarily serve their campus. This additional clinical staff increases the capacity for in-person counseling services for students needing this level of care. Additionally, an innovative feature of utilizing consortium staff is the ability for MCC member institutions to collaboratively share clinical staff from one institution (in times of low service demand) to another (in times of high service demand).

Mental Health and Wellness Educators

Each MCC member institution forms their own search committee to select one full-time Mental Health and Wellness Educator to primarily serve their campus. The Mental Health and Wellness Educators conduct outreach and prevention programming and are critical for promoting the full menu of resources and services reflecting the stepped care model. Additionally, an innovative feature of utilizing consortium staff is the ability for MCC member institutions to collaboratively share educator staff from one institution to another, supporting large-scale outreach events to engage students.

Peer Educators

Each MCC member institution receives funding to support their own team of student Peer Educators to promote the available mental health resources and deliver a variety of outreach events throughout the year.
